Dear Leaders,
I can remember the early days of my leadership journey when I underestimated the importance of rest. I often burned the candle at both ends and failed to take the time I needed to rest and recharge. That lack of balance left me feeling overwhelmed, stressed, and unable to show up as the best version of myself. Eventually, I learned that rest is not optional; it is necessary.
Leadership requires constant problem-solving, decision-making, and supporting others. It demands energy, endurance, and the ability to persevere through challenges. While the work is incredibly rewarding, it can also be incredibly demanding. That is why rest and recharge are so important.
I want to encourage leaders to take an honest look at their work-life balance and make adjustments where needed. Spend time with family and friends. Pursue a hobby. Make space to care for yourself. You will lead better when you are rested, grounded, and renewed.
Keep leading with heart, soul, and from the inside out!
Yours in Leadership,
Latoya
